MAKE 2016 A SUCCESSFUL YEAR BY YOUR MOUTH!

When 2015 began everyone was saying "happy new year, it's a new year
with new things etc", and many resolutions concerning it were made!
Well, less than 48 hours are remaining before we kiss 2015 goodbye,
what achievement have you made? Did you accomplish your resolutions?
Personally, it has been a great year, I've achieved a number of goals!

What stood out conspicuously for me was that about 98% of what I
decreed towards the year actually came true! I prophesied positive
things over my life, and exactly they emerged in 2015. Indeed there is
power in the tongue as the Holy Bible articulate.

What do you want in 2016? Confess it, type it down on the Notebook app
on your phone and work towards it as early as 1st of January. By the
time December 31st 2016 comes, you won't look back and start
complaining.

Speak success over your life, speak protection over your family,
refute any negative misfortune that may happen in 2016, and work
towards your goals.

I WISH YOU A SUCCESSFUL 2016!!!

ALL I WANT IS A CHANCE TO MAXIMIZE MY POTENTIAL!!!

For many decades people with special needs have been undermined in
the society just because of the cynicism that they can't amount to
anything in life. That is the highest level of stupidity because these
people can change the world if only they are given the chance!

In a family setup where there is a kid with a certain impairment, you
may find the parents educating other children excluding this one
in the view that they are wasting their time and money! One day my mum
went to visit her friend, little did she know that her friend had a
physically impaired kid. Once she reached at the door, the friend said
to the house help "peleka huyo mnyama bedroom, niko na mgeni" (take
that animal to bedroom, I have a visitor). That really disturbed my
mother because how can one be considered to be an "animal" just
because of his/her condition?

That is the main reason why I'm really determined to fight for their
rights. Education institutions must be able to admit them regardless
of the type of impairment they are having. Likewise to companies, they
must recruits employees according to intelligence and qualifications
of the applicants.

I have a dream where one day everyone will be treated equally
regardless of their conditions. To make this dread come true, you and
I need to start showing the people with special needs love and
supporting what they do. .

Let's give them opportunity to accomplish their dreams and I'm sure they will.

YOU ARE THE GREATEST CRITIC OF YOURSELF!

Sometimes the standards set by the society are so high that we think
we aren't capable to meet them. Everyone around us expects we be
successful, failure to that we will be considered as 'useless' in the
society. So we end up pressuring ourselves to meet those standards.

Due to that pressure, one will be stressed and do anything possible to
succeed. Once the person has failed in one of his projects, he/she
will feel unworthy to be living and start regretting the day he/she
was born. One always has this mentality of "what will other people say
once I have failed".
This is most common to students who are sitting for their final
examination. The unfortunate thing is that when a student sees a
difficult question, he/she panics to a point he/she forgets everything
leading to disruption of the whole exam.

What we don't know is that we can do so much than we can imagine, the
only thing we have to do is to start believing in ourselves. There are
no good things that are segregated to a special group of individuals,
everyone can achieve anything no matter what!

There comes a time that you need to be protected from yourself! Yes,
those negative thoughts about yourself need to be dealt with properly
because you are limited to achieve your goals. I wish you knew how
much potential you have.

Build your self esteem, hang out with those who believe in you. Don't
listen to the negative minded people and in the end you will be
victorious!

HOW I DID MY IGCSE EXAMS

It is believed by many that education is one of the keys to success.
Indeed it is, because these days in order to be competent in the job
market, you must have those papers! That is the main reason why I want
to pursue my career up to the doctorate level no matter the obstacles
ahead!

My high school education was not a walk in the park especially
considering my condition Cerebral Palsy, but all in all I managed to
complete it and passed the final examination. Writing was the main
obstacle because I cant write using my hand. Therefore I had to get a
student's aide to be writing for me. He used to write notes, help me
do assignments and even scribe for me answers as I tell him when the
internal exams came.

The main challenge emerged when I was trying to register for the
International General Certificate for Secondary Education. Edexcel
(United Kingdom examining body) had never encountered a case like
mine. So we had to convince them that I'm capable to do that exam when
given the right facilities. Kenya National Examination Council which
has the Edexcel offices in Kenya, suggested that instead of struggling
to find a way of doing the exam, I opt to do vocational training.
Which I strongly opposed because I know what I'm capable of.

Fortunately, we managed to convinced them until they accepted I do the
exam with a scribe. That brought another issue of the person who will
be scribe; KNEC wanted someone who don't know me. That was unrealistic
because I needed someone who understand my speech in order we
communicate effectively. For someone to know my speech well, it a must
for him/her to stay with me for 2 weeks.

Fortunately, we found a lady who was kind hearted. She learnt my
speech within the shortest time possible. I did the exam with her, and
when the results came, they were very impressive. I appreciate her a
lot!

For now I'm hoping to join university to pursue bachelors in Business
Management. If only I'm given the chance, I can achieve my dreams and
goals!

HAVING A MENTOR IS ONE CRUCIAL KEY TO SUCCESS

Everybody want to be successful in life, having a good house, a good
vehicle, a good spouse, you want your children to go to the best
schools ever, you want everything about yourself to be successful.
Well that can be achieved if only you have a mentor in your life!

I said in my article "Pursue what you are passionate about", a mentor
is a person who has accomplished in the field which you are passionate
in, and you try to emulate some of his ways and also learn from
his/her mistakes. He/she must be in the field which you want to
pursue. You can't have a mentor whose field is contrary to your dream.
If your passion is in business, find a mentor who is in the business
sector. If it is music, also do the same, find a mentor who is in the
music industry.

Like me, George Wachiuri is my mentor. He is the founder of Optiven
Limited, a company which deals in Real Estate. Mr. George tried to get
into business 15 times and they all failed before he founded Optiven
Limited which is now worth KSH 1 billion. 15 times is quite a lot, he
probably wanted to give up but his persistence kept him going. That's
is the main reason why I adore him. You can check out his blog
www.georgewachiuri.com.

My passion is business and I've been desiring to venture into Real
Estate sector since when I was a small kid. I believe under his
mentorship, I will be able to achieve my goal. Sir you really inspire
me!

A mentor is like a teacher who will model you properly, if it is
criticizing you, he/she will do it because they want you be better
like them. So if you want to be successful find someone to mentor you!

Monday 28 September 2015

YOU ARE SO AMAZING JUST THE WAY YOU ARE!

When babies are born, their self esteem are so high to a point they
are able to demand and get what they want. If it's the breast milk
they want, they will cry until their mothers provide it. Whether it's
dipers, they will do the same until
you change them. Even if they are twins, triplets or quadriplets, they
wouldn't care, you just cater for their needs and you won't hear a
single noise.

I don't know why when a person is growing up, that "braveness" begins
to diminish. You may find a small child aged between 7 to 14 years,
his/her self esteem has worn out just because a teacher said "you will
never amount to anything in life"! Therefore that statement will begin
eating the kid up. (Parents and teachers, there are some statements
you shouldn't utter to a growing child because they will affect
him/her)
.

If it is a boy, he will grow up knowing he is nothing and end up in
drugs, crime and impregnating small girls. He will want to accepted in
the society, and since he was told nothing good can come out from him,
he ends up in the bad company where he feels accepted. Due to this the
guy wouldn't become what he was meant to be.

If it is a lady, the same thing will happen. She will grow up knowing
she is worthless, not beautiful, not sexy, meaningless etc. Therefore
she will start proving that she is beautiful and sexy enough by giving
men her body. When the lady gets pregnant, she will opt to abort the
foetus because back of her mind she knows nothing good can come out of
her, even a good mother. At long last, the lady ends up not fulfilling
her assignment in life.

But who said you have to listen to what other people think of you to
know your greatness? That's a lie from the devil! The holy book says
"you are fearfully and wonderfully made"! So you don't need someone to
tell you how great you are!

If someone cannot accept you the way you are, then give him/her a red
card in your life! No matter how beautiful or handsome they are, they
mean nothing to you! So just know you are so amazing the way you are!

Wednesday 16 September 2015

THE ONLY PEOPLE WHO SHOULD MATTER IN YOUR LIFE ARE THOSE WHO BELIEVE IN YOU!

Everybody has people who interact with him/her every single day of
ones life, from birth
to death. They are doctors, nurses, parents, relatives, friends,
teachers, lectures, employers, employees, colleagues, spouses and the
list is endless.

Some of these people are assigned to make sure that you succeed in
life, while others are there just to hinder you from your destiny. One
should be able to distinguish the difference between these two kinds
of people, because not everyone you interact with wants the best out
of you! Others want you to fail so that they celebrate your
misfortune.

Those people who believe in you will always be there for you no matter
what. They know the future holds success for you. Making sure that you
achieve your ultimate goal is always their work. Even if you make a
big mistake, they will always say "get up, and try again". All you
have to do is doing the best to never disappoint them.

But there are others who dont something great can come from you. These
are people who you shouldn't even interact with because they are
always pessimistic about you. They use your weak point to crictise and
backbite you. The moment you do a slight mistake, that is the perfect
time for your critics to be enthusiastic and celebrate.

What you should do to these people is to keep off! Because if you
continue entertaining them, they will drag you behind to a point you
can't rescue yourself. In fact you should block on your Whatsapp! No
matter how pretty, handsome, intelligent, wealthy they are, they will
never mean anything to you!

So it is upto you to discern the people who value you and invest more
in them in terms of friendships and forget completely those people
who don't believe in you.

PURSUE WHAT YOU ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT

All of us have those things that we love doing during our leisure or
even official time. It can be a talent, a skill or something we are
always obsessed with.

These things are the kind of stuff that a person can do to its
perfection for a lifetime without even expecting to be paid. It maybe
singing, modelling, swimming, writing, acting, motivational speaking
and the list is endless. Sometimes Brian call them "first love".

The reason why he refers to them as "first love" is because everytime
someone finds himself/herself doing those things without being told
to. The individual is born with them and if they are well exercised,
they can take someone very far.

Unfortunately some of our young people want to get 'quick cash',
therefore they end up 'copying' what successful people have done. In
the long last, they fail and become frustrated in life. "Dont find
someone who is successful and try to emulate his/her passion then call
him/her a mentor" Brian articulates.

A mentor is a person who has the same passion as you are and has made
it in that field. All that one should emulate some of the ways the
mentor has used to accomplish his/her dreams. Don't force yourself to
do what you don't find passion in because eventually you will fail.

Early this year, a friend of mine asked me to advice her on which is
the best course to pursue in the university. I told her the same way
she did her high school exams, is the same way she should choose which
course she want to pursue. Nobody should advice you on your career!

Brian always say You Only Live Once (YOLO), so don't live another
person's life. Also don't pursue career of somebody else. Your passion
is your "first love"!

WHAT KENYA WILL BENEFIT BY HOSTING THE GLOBAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP SUMMIT

Recently Kenya was declared as a Middle Income Country, this was
because it is becoming more industrialized and its Gross Domestic
Product is growing expeditiously.

With the emerging of the new firms, the rate of unemployment is going
down slowly. When our
youth are being employed, the terror groups such as Al shaabab and Al
qaeda won't get anyone to radicalise. Which will eventually kill
insecurity in the country.

There have been alot of positive things happening in our land. One of
them is the reopening of the largest mall in East Africa, Westgate
mall which was attacked two years ago by Al shaabab. I love the
security measures that have been implemented in the mall, the bullet
proof widows, grenade sensors etecetra.

The launching Garden City is another achievement that Kenya has made.
I believe it will host many of small businesses that are coming up.
Due to that the economy will grow.

Now lets get to the real thing, the Global Entrepreneurship Summit.
This will be the first time African soil to host such an event, and
it's a honor to be the first country to host it. The summit will be
able to connect entrepreneurs from all over the world with Kenya
entrepreneurs. By doing this, the market will expand causing a boom in
the economy.

Investors worldwide will be able to imbue their money in Kenya which
will strengthen the shilling. When people come from overseas, they
come with their own currencies. When they reach here, they will have
to buy the shilling with their currencies in order to trade
efficiently. This will make the demand for shilling to go high and
therefore its price will shoot and become strong.

The bilateral relationship between Kenya and the U.S. will also
continue to be firm, especially when the U.S. president his excellency
Barack Obama is coming. It will be the first time sitting president of
the United State will be visiting Kenya! It's such a historical
moment, in fact the origin of president Obama is Kenya!

Lets now wait for the Global Entrepreneurs Summit!

EMPLOYMENT VS BUSINESS

The debate between employment and business has been there since time in memorial.
Some may prefer to be employed rather than setting up their own firms, while the rest opt to start small business to enhance their lives.

Well, both  fields have their own prons  and cons that one needs to take account of when venturing into. Today I  will be analyzing ths advantages and disadvantages of both aleave you to decide which works best for you!

Many of of us have been brought up  knowing that we always go to school so that in the future  we may get a good e mployment. Well, it is the reason why we struggle to to excel in our studies.Today  we have many People who qualify to proceed to higher education.

Employment is the only sector where  you are assured of your incomeby the end  of the month unlike in business where your income depends on the demand of your products/services in the market.

Another merit of being in employment is that you may get promotion for higher position in the hierarchy and your salary maybe increased. This can boost your self esteem. Sometimes the company   that you are working for may decide to reward it's employees and organize a  trip to go where you have always desired to go.

On the other hand, being in business has its own rewards which you will enjoy. You will have the freedom of opening the business whenever you feel like and also on which day of the week. Unlike in employment where you have to report at your working station by eight in the morning and leave by five in the evening. Also you may make as much money as possible provided you give the customers the best quality of your products or services.

Having your own firm, you will be able to monitor the cashflows and decide whether you should inject  fresh capital or not. Fortunately, you may get incentives from the government boost your business.

To me, there is no sector which is the best but if you can do part time business and part time employment,  you are going far!!!

THE MYSTERY OF MY LEFT HAND

Living with Cerebral Palsy hasn't been that
easy for the last 19 years
I've lived in this earth. It has been with many
difficult hurdles but
I managed to conquer them and I'm proud
to have Cerebral Palsy.

My left hand brought me many bad
experiences never-the-less it is the
best part of my body. This hand is not very
stable therefore I use my
right hand to most of the things. The left
hand has the most spastic
movements. Spastism means uncontrollable,
due to that I found it
difficult to my left hand.
To avoid any messes that it can cause, I
always lock it under my right leg.

In the past, I did many mistakes
superfluously and I took
responsibility for it. One day in primary
school, a teacher was going
round and marking our assignments. I
called her to mark my book and
she told me to wait she mark other books
and she will come to mark
mine, so I understood and didn't have any
grudge against her.

It happened that I hadn't locked the left
hand and she passed near me
going to mark other students' work.
Accidentally, I hit her and the
students started saying the reason I did hit
her is because she
ignored me, which wasn't the case. I was
taken to the staffroom to
explain why I hit a teacher, I told them what
caused the incident and
fortunately they understood my condition.

Sometimes the hand might dislocate from its
joint and become very
stiff which causes pain. When the
dislocation occurs, it makes my
whole body to shake. Unless someone
makes it to return to its normal
state, I will never be calm. At times, it can be
so embarrassing
especially when one is in a meeting and he/
she starts to shake.?

Fortunately I accepted myself and learnt to
live with it.
That has been a mystery for many people
up-to-date. Some say the
reason why I shake is either I'm angry,
suspecting myself or even
cursed! I remember one day in rural home,
we were having a family
meeting. Unfortunately the hand dislocated
and started to shake.

People asked me what was the matter and I
told them "I'm not okay but
I will calm down". My uncle opted to take me to the hospital thinking
I was sick. The doctors said I was okay but
they gave me dosage of
fever!

There was a time I was thinking to cut my
left hand to avoid shame.
But something inside me told me "that hand
is what makes you different
from others". Since then I began loving my
hand.
That's why I wrote this article!

YOUR ATTITUDE TOWARDS LIFE WILL DETERMINE YOUR ALTITUDE IN LIFE

Imagine you are a Personnel Director of a particular company and it
has employed people to work for it. Recently you have initiated an
approach to motivate the employees at their work premise.

The approach is dubbed as "Job Enrichment". This is whereby employees
are given hard task to do, the main purpose of it is to bring out the
full potential of a particular employee. Unfortunately, one them don't
like the approach. He is always complaining that the job is to
challenging for him, he doesn't meet the company's timelines, he
begins to be absent without any justifiable reason. Definitely as a
Human resource director, you will get annoyed at the employee and
demote or even fire him.

That is exactly how life is! It will give you very tough situations
for you tackle. But if you are not well prepared for those situations,
you may give up in life and that is the worst mistake you will ever
do. Life will not care whether you are young, old, rich, poor,
beautiful, ugly, educated, uneducated, employed, self employed,
physically or mentally challenged; unfortunately those situations must
come.

The most vital thing that will define you is how you will strategice a
route out of those unpleasant experiences. If you sit there and say
you are not able because you don't have ABC, you will never know your
full potential. You have to be aggressive to accomplish your dream.
Get mentors who have made it in life and overcame obstacles. Always
find ways to succeed, remember everyone has 'unfair advantage' which I
articulated in my series "LIFE IS NOT FAIR AND WILL NEVER BE".

Life is tough but you are tougher than life!

WORRYING ABOUT THE FUTURE ONLY BRINGS FEAR AND DEPRIVES JOY FROM YOU!

Human beings are very intellectual creatures that exist in this
universe. They are are are able to think smartly and work hard in
order to live comfortable life.

Humans have the capability to remember the past events, maybe the
school they went to, their first love, their greatest achievements,
their worst mistakes and the list is endless. Apart from remembering
the past, they can also slightly predict about the future.

The future is one great mystery that has been hidden from humans for
a very long time and it will continue to be. I think if it was
revealed, we would live so recklessly since we know what tomorrow
holds for us.

It is that mystery that leave us in suspense; we don't know what is
going to happen the next minute. Of course yes we might make plans
about the future (I don't deny that fact), but also we have to admit
that we don't have an idea if those plans are going to work. For
example a person may plan to hangout with his/her friends but he/she
doesn't know if their friends are free or not.

I strongly believe everyone has made some plans that didn't turn out
the way way we had expected. But also I'm pretty certain that there
are some plans that have exceeded our expectations. Due those
experiences, the probability of predicting the future is exactly 50%;
either success or failure.

Unfortunately, many of us have been through worst disappointments in
the past until we fear something bad might happen tu us in the future,
therefore we are always expecting disappointments. That shouldn't be
always the case because we are forgetting the success that we got
previously.

Worrying about disappointments that will emerge in the future will
only deprive the joy of living in the present. Sometimes instead of
focusing so much into negativity,
try to think what if great success overwhelm you in the near future.
There you will realise you were born to conquer, for greatness and you
are peculiar.

Above all keep you trust in God, he will never fail you!!!

WHAT YOU DON'T APPRECIATE DEPRE CIATE

Once upon a time there lived a very wealthy man who resided in
Manchester in the UK. This man had two children Tom and Mark.

One day the two boys were assigned duties by their father. Tom's duty
was to trim grasses behind their masionate while Mark was told to wash his
father's car. Their father always gave them presents in equal
measures.

Tom was so thankful to his dad for the present and continued working
hard to make sure grasses are always trimmed in their compound. On the
other hand, Mark was always complaining that what his father gave him
was not enough and started being lazy on washing the vehicle. At time
he used to just wash it just for the sake.

The wealthy man noticed something fishy was going on between his two
sons, Tom was appreciating his gift and working very hard while Mark
was complaining that the gifts weren't enough for him and he started
lazing around.

So one day he called his sons for a meeting to discuss where the
problem was. Mark told his dad that his work was to much and the
presents he has been was too litt
le for him. Antithetically, Tom
appreciated his father and was working extra harder to please the dad.

The man decided to withdraw the job from Mark and told their gardener
to be washing his car. Not only did he withdraw the job, he also
stopped bringing gifts for Mark. Tom started receiving many presents
from his dad and found an opportunity to go to work at his father's
office.

Many of us always complaining about the situations that have embedded
us and we forget to appreciate the positive things that we have. That
ain't to be the case because others are so unfortunate to even
breathing oxygen, they require help.

Sometimes we wish to have a certain thing and yet we are forgetting to
appreciate what we have. Can I tell you something? What you wish to
have will never come to you until you appreciate what you have!h

EVERYONE HAS HIS/HER OWN TIMING OF BREAKTHROUGH

Sometimes I just look at the way life is and get amused, the sweetness
of it is that it isn't fair and will never be as I have been always
saying.

In this world, we have very many different species of animals. And
each specie has a gestation period that vary from the other species.
For example elephants, their gestation period is around 624 days.
Ducks have a gestation period of around 28 days. Deer carry their
pregnancies for around (197-300) days. Human being's gestation period
is approximately 36 weeks.

Now just imagine an elephant trying to compete with a duck on who will
have their offsprings the first one. That will be impossible because
the period of a duck is not even 50% of elephant's time. Or human
being trying to be at per with duck.

Many are times we admire those people who live very wealthy lives in
our society, not knowing that they too went through tough seasons
before getting there. There is no one who has a great life, who hasn't
experienced fire.

You might be asking yourself when is your breakthrough going to come?
And begin to compare yourself with other colleagues. That is what will
deprive happiness from you and start pressuring your 'I have to be
ABC..... by a certain time frame'.

Comparison can bring enmity between friends or even relatives. People
who always comparing themselves to others will start to feel other
people are responsible for their failure which it's not true. Before
you know, conflicts have erupted between friends or family members.

Everyone must know he/she was created differently and with different
purpose. So you should compete with yourself and not with other
people. I like the system that was introduced in Kenya education
system just the other day. Competition in national exams was scraped
off, thats means that the students will now compete with themselves
and unleash their full potential without looking at other students'
performance.

You might be there asking yourself when will your time to prosper
come, and when you look at friends, they are blessed. Just know the
time of your prosperity is around the corner and if you don't give up,
you will accomplish your dreams.

COMPETITION IS ONLY MEANT FOR BUSINESSES NOT HUMANS.

TALENT + EDUCATION = ONE EXTRAODINARY SUCCESS!

In life, there are two main ways to becoming successful; education and talent. Even though there are other ways, these two are very crucial one should invest most of their time on. About 65%, they are directly proportional to each other.

In my article, One source of income, danger ahead, I said education shouldn’t be the only way of one being successful. The same case applies to the other side of the coin; even talent shouldn’t be the only source of income.

Let’s take this analogy of bloggers, most of these people their talent is writing.  Now you can’t tell me bloggers didn’t attend any class, of course they had to so that they gain the skill of writing. That there justifies what I have just said.

Furthermore, one can employed in an institution where a certain talent is an extra requirement, the person who has that talent will have the added advantage. Besides doing the professional job, he/she will be also nurturing his/her talent.

Everyone of us has to get the papers for employment purposes, but also we have to nurture our talent for deployment purposes. Deployment is whereby you work for yourself. And in the end you will be successful.
