PURSUE WHAT YOU ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT

All of us have those things that we love doing during our leisure or
even official time. It can be a talent, a skill or something we are
always obsessed with.

These things are the kind of stuff that a person can do to its
perfection for a lifetime without even expecting to be paid. It maybe
singing, modelling, swimming, writing, acting, motivational speaking
and the list is endless. Sometimes Brian call them "first love".

The reason why he refers to them as "first love" is because everytime
someone finds himself/herself doing those things without being told
to. The individual is born with them and if they are well exercised,
they can take someone very far.

Unfortunately some of our young people want to get 'quick cash',
therefore they end up 'copying' what successful people have done. In
the long last, they fail and become frustrated in life. "Dont find
someone who is successful and try to emulate his/her passion then call
him/her a mentor" Brian articulates.

A mentor is a person who has the same passion as you are and has made
it in that field. All that one should emulate some of the ways the
mentor has used to accomplish his/her dreams. Don't force yourself to
do what you don't find passion in because eventually you will fail.

Early this year, a friend of mine asked me to advice her on which is
the best course to pursue in the university. I told her the same way
she did her high school exams, is the same way she should choose which
course she want to pursue. Nobody should advice you on your career!

Brian always say You Only Live Once (YOLO), so don't live another
person's life. Also don't pursue career of somebody else. Your passion
is your "first love"!

WHAT KENYA WILL BENEFIT BY HOSTING THE GLOBAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP SUMMIT

Recently Kenya was declared as a Middle Income Country, this was
because it is becoming more industrialized and its Gross Domestic
Product is growing expeditiously.

With the emerging of the new firms, the rate of unemployment is going
down slowly. When our
youth are being employed, the terror groups such as Al shaabab and Al
qaeda won't get anyone to radicalise. Which will eventually kill
insecurity in the country.

There have been alot of positive things happening in our land. One of
them is the reopening of the largest mall in East Africa, Westgate
mall which was attacked two years ago by Al shaabab. I love the
security measures that have been implemented in the mall, the bullet
proof widows, grenade sensors etecetra.

The launching Garden City is another achievement that Kenya has made.
I believe it will host many of small businesses that are coming up.
Due to that the economy will grow.

Now lets get to the real thing, the Global Entrepreneurship Summit.
This will be the first time African soil to host such an event, and
it's a honor to be the first country to host it. The summit will be
able to connect entrepreneurs from all over the world with Kenya
entrepreneurs. By doing this, the market will expand causing a boom in
the economy.

Investors worldwide will be able to imbue their money in Kenya which
will strengthen the shilling. When people come from overseas, they
come with their own currencies. When they reach here, they will have
to buy the shilling with their currencies in order to trade
efficiently. This will make the demand for shilling to go high and
therefore its price will shoot and become strong.

The bilateral relationship between Kenya and the U.S. will also
continue to be firm, especially when the U.S. president his excellency
Barack Obama is coming. It will be the first time sitting president of
the United State will be visiting Kenya! It's such a historical
moment, in fact the origin of president Obama is Kenya!

Lets now wait for the Global Entrepreneurs Summit!

EMPLOYMENT VS BUSINESS

The debate between employment and business has been there since time in memorial.
Some may prefer to be employed rather than setting up their own firms, while the rest opt to start small business to enhance their lives.

Well, both  fields have their own prons  and cons that one needs to take account of when venturing into. Today I  will be analyzing ths advantages and disadvantages of both aleave you to decide which works best for you!

Many of of us have been brought up  knowing that we always go to school so that in the future  we may get a good e mployment. Well, it is the reason why we struggle to to excel in our studies.Today  we have many People who qualify to proceed to higher education.

Employment is the only sector where  you are assured of your incomeby the end  of the month unlike in business where your income depends on the demand of your products/services in the market.

Another merit of being in employment is that you may get promotion for higher position in the hierarchy and your salary maybe increased. This can boost your self esteem. Sometimes the company   that you are working for may decide to reward it's employees and organize a  trip to go where you have always desired to go.

On the other hand, being in business has its own rewards which you will enjoy. You will have the freedom of opening the business whenever you feel like and also on which day of the week. Unlike in employment where you have to report at your working station by eight in the morning and leave by five in the evening. Also you may make as much money as possible provided you give the customers the best quality of your products or services.

Having your own firm, you will be able to monitor the cashflows and decide whether you should inject  fresh capital or not. Fortunately, you may get incentives from the government boost your business.

To me, there is no sector which is the best but if you can do part time business and part time employment,  you are going far!!!

THE MYSTERY OF MY LEFT HAND

Living with Cerebral Palsy hasn't been that
easy for the last 19 years
I've lived in this earth. It has been with many
difficult hurdles but
I managed to conquer them and I'm proud
to have Cerebral Palsy.

My left hand brought me many bad
experiences never-the-less it is the
best part of my body. This hand is not very
stable therefore I use my
right hand to most of the things. The left
hand has the most spastic
movements. Spastism means uncontrollable,
due to that I found it
difficult to my left hand.
To avoid any messes that it can cause, I
always lock it under my right leg.

In the past, I did many mistakes
superfluously and I took
responsibility for it. One day in primary
school, a teacher was going
round and marking our assignments. I
called her to mark my book and
she told me to wait she mark other books
and she will come to mark
mine, so I understood and didn't have any
grudge against her.

It happened that I hadn't locked the left
hand and she passed near me
going to mark other students' work.
Accidentally, I hit her and the
students started saying the reason I did hit
her is because she
ignored me, which wasn't the case. I was
taken to the staffroom to
explain why I hit a teacher, I told them what
caused the incident and
fortunately they understood my condition.

Sometimes the hand might dislocate from its
joint and become very
stiff which causes pain. When the
dislocation occurs, it makes my
whole body to shake. Unless someone
makes it to return to its normal
state, I will never be calm. At times, it can be
so embarrassing
especially when one is in a meeting and he/
she starts to shake.?

Fortunately I accepted myself and learnt to
live with it.
That has been a mystery for many people
up-to-date. Some say the
reason why I shake is either I'm angry,
suspecting myself or even
cursed! I remember one day in rural home,
we were having a family
meeting. Unfortunately the hand dislocated
and started to shake.

People asked me what was the matter and I
told them "I'm not okay but
I will calm down". My uncle opted to take me to the hospital thinking
I was sick. The doctors said I was okay but
they gave me dosage of
fever!

There was a time I was thinking to cut my
left hand to avoid shame.
But something inside me told me "that hand
is what makes you different
from others". Since then I began loving my
hand.
That's why I wrote this article!
