HOW I DID MY IGCSE EXAMS

It is believed by many that education is one of the keys to success.
Indeed it is, because these days in order to be competent in the job
market, you must have those papers! That is the main reason why I want
to pursue my career up to the doctorate level no matter the obstacles
ahead!

My high school education was not a walk in the park especially
considering my condition Cerebral Palsy, but all in all I managed to
complete it and passed the final examination. Writing was the main
obstacle because I cant write using my hand. Therefore I had to get a
student's aide to be writing for me. He used to write notes, help me
do assignments and even scribe for me answers as I tell him when the
internal exams came.

The main challenge emerged when I was trying to register for the
International General Certificate for Secondary Education. Edexcel
(United Kingdom examining body) had never encountered a case like
mine. So we had to convince them that I'm capable to do that exam when
given the right facilities. Kenya National Examination Council which
has the Edexcel offices in Kenya, suggested that instead of struggling
to find a way of doing the exam, I opt to do vocational training.
Which I strongly opposed because I know what I'm capable of.

Fortunately, we managed to convinced them until they accepted I do the
exam with a scribe. That brought another issue of the person who will
be scribe; KNEC wanted someone who don't know me. That was unrealistic
because I needed someone who understand my speech in order we
communicate effectively. For someone to know my speech well, it a must
for him/her to stay with me for 2 weeks.

Fortunately, we found a lady who was kind hearted. She learnt my
speech within the shortest time possible. I did the exam with her, and
when the results came, they were very impressive. I appreciate her a
lot!

For now I'm hoping to join university to pursue bachelors in Business
Management. If only I'm given the chance, I can achieve my dreams and
goals!
